CELEBRATES 30 YEARS OF SERVICE TO ST. MAARTEN
American Airlines on Tuesday, January 27, 2009 celebrated 30 years of
service to The Princess Juliana International Airport. The airline
currently operates nonstop service to St. Maarten from Miami
International Airport (MIA), John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK)
and San Juan Luis Mu?z Marin International Airport (SJU).
“This is a significant and exciting milestone for American,” said
Bennett Bell, American’s Country Manager in St. Maarten. “We look
forward to continuing to provide service to and from St. Maarten for
many years to come.”
American launched service to St. Maarten 30 years ago today and
currently offers two daily flights to St. Maarten from Miami and one
daily flight from New York’s JFK. American’s regional affiliate,
American Eagle, provides one daily flight from San Juan to St. Maarten
during the weekdays (Monday through Friday) and two daily flights on
Saturdays and Sundays.
American and American Eagle have a strong history of service in the
United States, the Caribbean and Latin America. American’s network
offers customers 27 destinations throughout Latin America – more than
any other U.S. airline – and 23 destinations throughout the Caribbean.
