The new south fence is finished. Facility Maintenance workers made good
on their promise for a sturdy barrier, after the old fence was torn down
during the passing of Hurricane Omar on October 16 2008.
The new fence is erected on top of a 2,500 feet seawall that was
constructed below the sand. The previous fence did not have a good
seawall below, so it was not strong enough.
Building the new wall with the fence on top was not an easy undertaking,
despite the nearby alluring beach. Drs. Holiday commended the Facility
Maintenance men for the job well done. PJIAE had opted not to outsource
the work, but to assign its own workers and they rose to the challenge.
“We have talent in house and this shows it,” he said.
